What Are Your Options When It Comes to Glass Shower Screens?

If you are remodelling your bathroom or building a house and want shower screens installed, you want to be right the first time and not have to redo anything. Note the different types of shower screens you may come across to help you make an informed decision.
Framed, Semi-Framed or Frameless Glass Shower Screens
You can either choose a sliding or hinged glass shower screen. Whichever you do depends on your taste and preferences and also whether you have space in your bathroom. If there is no space to swing the shower screen door open, you might be more suited to getting the sliding door type.
For a framed glass shower screen, all the glass edges are framed. You won't find any exposed glass edge work. The framing offers/gives a kind of anchorage and structural appearance/role. You can choose different colours for the frame, the most common being black, white and silver.
The semi-framed glass shower screen has some edges framed and others left unframed. Sometimes the top of the shower screen may be framed while the bottom may be left unframed and vice versa. The side of the glass shower screen door that opens may also be left unframed.
The frameless glass shower screen is entirely frameless. It gives an elegant and luxurious appearance, but you have to be extremely careful with such shower screens. Too much force can damage them.
Opacity
After you make your choice above, you need to figure out whether you want a clear, translucent or opaque glass shower screen. This again depends on your tastes and preferences and also the aesthetics of your bathroom.
Shape
Shower screens have different shapes: you can come across shower screens that are rectangular, diamond-shaped, round, semi-circular, etc. The standard ones are rectangular, but if you find that other shapes excite you, go for them.
Additional Features
You may also find nanoclean shower screens. They have an additional coating to help prevent dirt and grime. The coating generally reduces maintenance and cleaning frequency.
Cost
As you read above, there are standard shower screen doors. These tend to be cheaper. If you choose luxurious and elegant designs or additional features, the price shoots up.
You might find that framed glass shower screens are cheaper than semi-framed and frameless shower screens.
